JOANNA, A ESTROGÊNIA: Camelôs modernos.

Me recusei a cair nessa.

In the Glitter Galore summer school class, taught by Ali Zietsma, students were read the book “When Sophie Gets Angry – Really, Really Angry” by Molly Bang. The book taught how students can cope with anger and frustration, which translated into the class making “soothing bottles,” glittery tubes of relaxation that were made with empty water bottles, glitter glue and hot water.
These creations can be mixed up and the goal is that they can help relax and calm the students when they feel upset. On the Web. For a complete list of Stoughton Area School District Summer Excel courses, visitstoughton. Stoughton Area School District.

And last year, when the company issued its “envi- ronmental challenge” – a competition among Cum- mins’ locations nationally and internationally – two members of the local chap- ter entered and won. Mark Mentink and Tyler Lorenz based their team’s entry on various projects the group has undertaken, such as partnering with the city’s forester and the high school’s FFA to build a solar wood kiln in order to recycle trees that might oth- erwise end up in a landfill.
It’s also built shelters for ducks and bats, cleaned up parks and planted trees. The team wound up win- ning not only at the local level – in the United States – but it also won at Cum- mins’ international level.

The rather one- sided nat- ural relationship between the two didn’t escape the comedic grasp of Sandhill principal Jeff Femrite as he and Kegonsa principal Erin Conrad bonded over a run- ning joke during their col- laborations over first year on the job at their respective schools. While the two both hail from families of educators, they came to Stoughton from different areas and cir- cumstances.
Femrite is a former school counselor and prin- cipal looking for a larger district who was drawn in part to Stoughton due to his proud Norwegian heritage. He said he’s greatly enjoyed the atmosphere in a larger school district, and working once again with elementa- ry- aged students.“This is one of the best decisions my wife and I have ever made, to come here,” he said. Conrad, who has lived in various places throughout the country, spent several years in El Salvador doing human rights work.
After working for several years in Madison and Sun Prai- rie, she is looking forward to continuing the school’s play- and inquiry- based learning, and settling in, both in and out of the school setting.“It’s been a great year, so many new names and new people,” she said, “I feel like I’m just scratching the surface in terms of getting to know the community.”Already deep in prepara- tion for the 2. July 1, Femrite and Conrad forged solid bonds collab- orating together and with Krista Huntley- Rogers, who wrapped up her third year at Fox Prairie.“We really connect- ed, it was a great team approach,” Femrite said.
